About PTP

PTP.org.uk is the operational heart of our watersports delivery.

It is where access happens.

It is where young people are trained.

It is where communities meet the water safely.

PTP delivers open water swimming, paddlesports, youth development, training courses and school programmes across our sites — most notably at Beckenham Place Park Lake. Everything we do is built around structured safety, professional standards and inclusive access.

How PTP Fits Within the PTP Collective

PTP operates as part of the wider PTP Collective umbrella structure.

The Collective provides the governance framework, strategic direction and long-term sustainability model that supports each arm of the organisation. While PTP.org.uk focuses on delivery — sessions, education, training and community access — the Collective ensures:

  • Strong governance and compliance

  • Long-term infrastructure planning

  • Financial sustainability

  • Social impact accountability

  • Structured growth across sites

In simple terms:

PTP is what you experience on the water.

PTP Collective is what protects and strengthens it behind the scenes.

This structure allows us to operate professionally while staying true to our social enterprise values.

What Is the Point?

The point is access.

Access to safe water.

Access to education.

Access to employment pathways.

Access to wellbeing.

We exist to ensure that watersports and open water environments are not exclusive spaces, but accessible, welcoming, and safe for everyone. Through our Youth Development Scheme, we create genuine employment and progression routes for young people, equipping them with skills, qualifications, and confidence. Our water safety education builds life-saving knowledge that extends beyond the lake and into everyday life. Through volunteer swim initiatives, we give back to those who serve our communities, recognising their contribution with meaningful access to water. By maintaining affordable pricing and continually developing our facilities, we actively remove barriers to participation. We are not simply delivering sessions — we are building safer, stronger communities around water.

How We Got Here

PTP was founded in 2017 by Tank and Pia with a simple belief: safe access to water should be structured, professional and inclusive.

Tank brought over 30 years of watersports experience and two decades of industry leadership. Pia brought operational clarity, organisational structure and long-term vision. Together, they built a family-run organisation grounded in high standards and community values.

What began as session delivery evolved into something larger:

  • Youth qualification pathways

  • Volunteer access schemes

  • Multi-site operations

  • Structured governance development

  • Plans for accredited water safety education through AQA

As the organisation grew, so did the need for a stronger framework. The PTP Collective umbrella was developed to support sustainability, governance and long-term resilience — ensuring that the mission could continue beyond individuals and into future generations.

Where We Are Now

Today, PTP stands at the intersection of:

  • Professional delivery

  • Community access

  • Youth development

  • Water education

  • Infrastructure growth

And we continue to build — carefully, responsibly and with purpose.

Because the goal has never changed.

To keep water accessible.

To keep it safe.

And to make sure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from it.
