Description Of Role
We are recruiting enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our lake team at Beckenham Place Park Lake. This is a casual role working on a programmed shift basis, paid at the current London Living Wage.
The role involves the safe supervision of open water swimming sessions and the delivery and support of paddlesports activities including SUP, kayak and canoe sessions. Lake Assistants play a key role in maintaining high safety standards, supporting customers, managing equipment, and ensuring smooth daily operations on site.
Alongside frontline supervision, the position includes essential behind-the-scenes responsibilities such as equipment set-up and pack-down, cleaning and maintenance, customer check-in support, safety zone management, and general operational duties that keep the lake running effectively.
We are looking for individuals who are proactive, calm under pressure, confident working outdoors in all weather conditions, and committed to delivering a positive, inclusive customer experience.

Bewl Lake Assissant

Description of Role
We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Lake Assistants at Bewl Water. This is an operational, frontline role supporting the safe delivery of open water swimming and paddlesports activities including SUP, kayak and canoe sessions.
Lake Assistants are responsible for maintaining high safety standards on and around the water. The role includes supervising activity zones, supporting customers with equipment use, assisting with safety cover, managing launch and recovery areas, and ensuring daily operational readiness of kit and infrastructure.
You will work closely with the Senior Lake Assistant and operational leads to ensure sessions run smoothly, professionally and in line with site procedures. The role requires confidence in dynamic outdoor environments, strong situational awareness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Alongside supervision duties, responsibilities include equipment set-up and pack-down, cleaning and basic maintenance, supporting customer check-in processes, assisting with safety briefings, maintaining safety signage and zone demarcation, and contributing to a positive, inclusive customer experience.
This role is primarily outdoors and operates in all weather conditions. A proactive attitude, strong teamwork, and a commitment to safe practice are essential.

Qualifications Required

RYA Powerboat Level 2, Valid First Aid qualification (8-hour minimum recommended)

Experience working in watersports, open water environments, or similar outdoor settings
Desirable qualifications:

What You’ll Support
Depending on site and season, volunteers may assist with:
